BMW – K 1600 GTL www.vizi-tec.com Tail Light modulator installation Part 1: Before starting the installation please verify the operation of the brake lights. Remove 4 screws from rear mudguard/fender to access tail light connector. Remove OEM connector and install SBx in-line with matching connectors. The SBx is now installed. Test the functionality of the SBx. Secure with provide tie wraps. Put bike back together. Proceed to part 2 of the installation only if you want to also modulate the top-case. BMW – K 1600 GTL www.vizi-tec.com optional Top Case brake light modulation Part 2: DO THIS MOD ONLY AND ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD HOW THE SB2/3 WORKS AND AFTER YOU HAVE VARIFIED THE SB2/3 WORKS ON THE STOCK TAIL LIGHT! This mod is offered as a courtesy to the SBx-K1600 kit. If you want to modulate the Top Case luggage rack of the K1600 GTL (optional for the K1600GT). Find the stock 10 positions round connector. See pics below. This is the round connector that interfaces the top luggage case lights to the main electrical harness of the bike. Cut and splice into position #3. The wire should be Gray with Black tracer and Yellow dots(Brake light). But this is not always constant from bike to bike. Could be different color. Just make sure it is position #3. Make cut and splice on the BIKE SIDE of the connector set. This will allow for easy future install/removal of Top Case  MALE 10 position round Top Case w/ brake lights FEMALE 10 position round Posi-lock 1. CUT wire from position #3 and splice with included posi-lock to the extra modulated output of the SB2. FEMALE 6 position square connector MALE 6 position square connector FEMALE 6 position square connector SB2 < From bike harness > Stock Tail light. Connector is integrated. MALE 6 position square connector 2. Stock brake signal after CUT. Terminate using included Posi-lock to protect against shorts. Leave floating. Or it may need to be terminated to ground with a load resistor. Size will depend on the current draw of your top-case. Usually ~200mA. Secure the white wire from SBx to the #3 wire on the bike side of the 10 pin connector with a posi-lock. Use another posi-lock to secure the now open #3 gray wire coming from the bike's wiring harness.
