How to find the Security Keyless Keypad Code on the 2002, 03, 04, 05, 06 & 2007 Ford Excursion, F250 or F350 and how to use the Keypad functions. When your vehicle was newly purchased from the dealer it came with a card in the owner’s manual packet that had the keypad code on it. The packet is often lost over time and as the vehicle trades owners the code to the Keyless Entry is lost. Ford Dealers wants some big money to get the code for you by plugging in their computer to retrieve the code or using the following method. There is a much easier way for you to get the code and you don’t need any tools or automotive knowledge. I’ll show you how and where to find the code and how to reset the Keyless Entry back to the factory code or your personal code number. There are three ways to find to it. One is a lot easier than the other but less work if you have a good eye and great flashlight. There are some Excursions, F250 and F350s that have a different wiring system so the first location to look is just above the right front kick panel; the RAP module is black in color with the numbers on the front the same as the white module. If you look above the kick panel you can see it really clear without taking anything apart. If it is not at this location please follow the next step. This part is not hard to do you will need to remove the front cover under the steering wheel that says fuse box. (It has 4 plastic screws to remove) under the dash, the five (5) digit code is on the Cream/white or Black box behind the radio, look to the top right of the open fuse box cover through the wires. (Towards the fire wall look through where my finger is pointing). At the back firewall, look for a 5 digit code on a sticker on a cream/white box. This is not easy but if you try every angle I promise it will appear don’t forget to use a very powerful flashlight if you want to see it. The RAP module sometimes is covered by insulation making it almost impossible to see. It is located on the firewall behind the radio just below the windshield and behind a pipe it is very hard to see most people remove the radio and the insulation to see it some people have used a mirror to see it. The second way is a more time consuming job because you have to remover the stereo and to the rear you’ll be able to see the 5 digit code very easy. This process can take 2-10 minutes. This is a picture of the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module. This is the module you are looking for there is nothing that identifies it as the RAP module (Some RAP modules are Black in color & it could also be up side down). It is the only box in the dash with the large bold type set with five numbers on it these is the five (5) digit code you will need from the module (my numbers were 35737). Write this number down this is the factory code for your Keyless Entry. These are some letters I have received from people that have found their code and sent the information of how they found it. Hi, It's there you have to look a little harder it is very hard to find I have never had anyone not find it. You could take out the radio to locate it. The radio comes out very easy but you will need the radio removal tool it is called a DIN radio removal tool walmart has it for $3.99. The two little rods from the tools fit into the holes on the radio and the radio will pull directly out. The module is located behind the round steel bar that is in behind the radio the best way to see it is with a mirror if you are looking from the radio opening. If you look for it from the driver’s side you will be looking up from the fuse box through a hole up towards the bottom of the radio and towards the firewall. I will attach a photo of the radio tool and a photo of the module location behind the radio for you. I will attach below a couple of letters from people that sent them into me telling how they found the module. Letter number 1 Dear Gary; first the good news. After much labor and sweat, that thing was well hidden behind the insulation, wires, tubes, etc, I located a box with a white sticker and 5 bold numbers. Let me retrace my steps for you in order to make sure I found the right box and numbers. First I looked above what I felt was the kick panel on the right front passenger side. I was not sure where to look but I did not find anything resembling a box with 5 numeric digits. I then removed the fuse panel and looked up at an angle towards the radio but could not see a box only a ton of white insulation. Finally, I removed the radio then worked and worked to get the insulation out of the way revealing a box with a white Bosch sticker on it. Printed on this sticker were 5 large bold numbers which in order for me to see I had to look through the fuse panel area in that there was some large tube blocking the view through the radio hole. Letter number 2 Gary, I tried again and found it. That letter you sent (letter #1) had a few hints in it that made me try again. I had gotten my hand on it before but didn't know it was the box. After pulling and pushing on the insulation I finally took a long tool (I used a socket wrench extension and pushed the insulation as far up into the dash as I could while shining a flashlight into the hole (behind the fuse box location you described) Mine was upside down and I could only see four of the numbers. I moved around and tried different angles just enough that I finally saw the last digit. I tried the code and it worked. Thanks! Let me know if this helps Gary Now that you’ve got the code I’ll tell you how to use the Keyless entry and set-up your own code. Erasing your own personal code or a prior owners code and leaving only the factory-set code 1. Enter the factory-set code. 2. Press the 1/2 control within five seconds of step one 1. 3. Insert a key and turn the ignition from the 1 (OFF/LOCK) to the 3 (ON) position and cycle between 1 (OFF/LOCK) and 3 (ON) eight times in rapid succession (within 10 seconds) with the eighth turn ending in the 3 (ON) position. The locks will cycle to confirm that the programming mode has been entered. Within 20 seconds, program a remote transmitter by pressing any button on a transmitter. The locks will cycle once to confirm that the remote transmitter has been programmed. (If more than 20 seconds pass before pressing a remote transmitter button, the programming mode will exit and the procedure will have to be repeated.) Repeat the previous step to program additional remote transmitters. NOTE: All fobs must be programmed on the same time for all fobs to work. The locks will cycle once to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed. When you have completed programming the remote transmitters, turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position or wait 20 seconds. Again the doors will lock/unlock to confirm programming has been completed. I would like to thank you again for your winning bid. I hope that everything went well and without any problems if you have had any difficulties please email me for help. Gary
