Using an 8mm socket, remove two screws that hold on license plate. 2. Unplug OEM sensor and license plate harness from truck. Rev 00 Page 2 1999-20XX FORD F250-350 REAR 3. Crush hazard. Do not get under the bumper. It will be ready to come off when this step is complete. Excursion will remove in the same manner, but the mounts are shorter. Using 21mm socket, remove two nuts holding on OEM rear bumper bracket. (both sides) Hold bumper and push bolt strips through holes. Remove OEM bumper and set face down on cardboard. 4. Carefully remove OEM sensors, taillights and wiring harness from OEM bumper. These will be reused. Rev 00 Page 3 1999-20XX FORD F250-350 REAR 5. EXTREME CAUTION! Install OEM rear park assist sensors into Hammerhead bumper. Use a lubricating fluid (soapy water works) to minimize friction while inserting sensors into grommets. Take care not to twist sensors while inserting as this could damage the sensor. The sensor needs to be pushed as far through the bumper as possible. (Black part of sensor needs to be showing on the outside of the bumper. 6. Install license plate lights, and wiring harness in Hammerhead bumper. Use tabs @ orange arrows to retain harness. Rev 00 Page 4 1999-20XX FORD F250-350 REAR IV. INSTALLATION OF HAMMERHEAD BUMPER 1. Using OEM hardware, install Hammerhead frame mounts in OEM location. (both sides) Pull mounts away from truck and hand tighten nuts. Excursion mounts bolt up in the same manner, but are a different shape. You will need eight ½”-13x2” bolts, 16 flat washers, 8 lock washers, 8 ½”-13 nuts, and a 3/4” wrench and socket. 3. Align bumper and tighten all hardware. CONGRATULATIONS!! Rev 00 Page 6
