IKCO AUTO PARTS Introduction to Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) is the largest car manufacturer in Iran and the Middle East. With over 45 years of experience in the automotive industry, the car company produces about 1000,000 vehicles of different models per year. IKCO holds the largest share of the local vehicle market in Iran. This achievement was obtained through plants supplied with advanced production lines of leading brands in cast iron such as: HWS, WAGNER, DISAMATIC, HANSBERG, BMD. And also in aluminum casting it is supplied by European brands such as: FATA production line for gravity casting and IDRA in high pressure die casting. 1 IKCO Ca st Iro n Cast Iron The main competitive advantage of IKCO in the global auto-part market is based on using clean scraps wasted in body production lines, which are of highest quality raw materials. Central laboratory includes a sand lab, a melting lab, metallography and mechanical labs (hardness and tensile tests), dimensional controlling section (CMM), NDT tests and a chemical lab (atomic absorption). Production line's laboratory is consisted of sand and melting labs which control continuously the quality of the sand and melting metal. There is also a separate NDT section for controlling the quality of safety critical parts at the end of Hansberg molding line. The company is capable of designing, manufacturing and moulding tools in different sizes: G1, G2, G3, G4 and G5. It also carries out plastic dies through manufacturing progressive dies widely used by most major global automobile makers like Peugeot to manufacture auto-parts. 11 IKCO Press Shop Press Shop has been established and equipped with Schuler Progressive Presses 630 & 315 tonnes to produce Peugeot’s progressive parts. High quality and fast delivery are among the main advantages of the unit. Cutting Center One of the main competitive advantages of IKCO is its cutting center. Slitting and cutting are done in this center. 13 IKCO Slitting Slitting has unique specifications which are as follows: 1. Reloading coil up to 20 tonnes. 2. Cutting coil with 1850 mm width. 3. Cutting coil with 0.5 to 3 mm thickness. 4. Cutting speed of 200 m/min Cut to Length The machine cuts coil into sheets. Its specifications are as follows: 1. Cutting coil with 1300 mm width. 2. Cutting speed of 45 m/min. 3. Cutting sheets with 3000 mm length. 4. Cutting coil with 0.5 to 3 mm thickness. 5.
