E TM Model 72017 For 1 player / Ages 5 and up INSTRUCTION MANUAL P/N 82364500 Rev.A new game. Next press the SKILL button to choose between skill levels 1 and 2. NOTE: If you do not choose a level, you will automatically play on level 1. Once you’ve chosen your level, press the ON•CAST•ENTER button again. Special Hint: Your Junior Bass Fishin’ game will “go to sleep” when there is no activity for about one (1) minute. If you have not finished your game before “sleep mode”, you will automatically start a new game when you “wake it up”. To exit demo mode, press the RESET button on the front of the game. It’s time to hit the lake and reel ‘em in! Remember, if you’re going Bass Fishin’, you don’t have to be REALLY BIG to catch a REALLY BIG fish! Choose your favorite lure, cast your line, and wait for those whoppers to take the bait! If you watch out for the occasional old boot or spare tire, you’ll be reeling in a forty-pounder in no time! Button Functions BEST CATCH RESET NEW GAME ON•CAST•ENTER CHOOSE YOUR LURE! There are five special lures to choose from. Each one acts differently in the water and gives you a great chance to catch a fish. But be careful, each lure will tend to “snag” on different objects floating in the lake. Choose your lure by pressing the LURE button. Press the button again to see all of the lures available. The Lures are: WORM SPINNER JIG TOP WATER SOUND SKILL HANDLE LURE NEW GAME - Press and hold this button to start a new game. ON•CAST•ENTER – Press this button to turn on the game, cast, or enter a selection. LURE – Press this button to choose from five different fishing lures. BEST CATCH – Press this button to show your biggest catch ever. NOTE: If you have pressed the RESET button during your game, your "best catch" record will be any fish caught since resetting the game. You will have no record of fish caught prior to pressing RESET. SOUND – Press this button turns the sound “on” or “off”. SKILL – Press this button to set the game at level 1 or 2. HANDLE – Turn the handle to reel in your fish. RESET – Using a pointed object, press this button to reset the game. Just remember, this will start a new game and delete all previously caught fish and your “best catch”. Now let’s go fishin’! CHOOSE A LEVEL! Press the NEW GAME button to start a CRANKBAIT Once you’ve decided on a lure, press the ON•CAST•ENTER button to tie it to your line. NOTE: If you do not choose a lure, you will automatically be given a Worm. But don’t worry, as you know, all fish love worms! Now that you’ve chosen your lure, it’s time to cast it into the water! CAST YOUR LINE! While holding the ON•CAST•ENTER button, make a quick, forward casting motion. You will hear your line go out and splash into the water. Now, depending on the lure you’ve chosen, your hook will begin to sink. You can turn the HANDLE to reel it back toward the boat or let it sink to go after the fish near the bottom of the lake. NOTE: If you choose TOP WATER or CRANKBAIT lures, they will not sink. You can turn the HANDLE to reel it back toward the boat or let it sink to go after the fish near the bottom of the lake. CATCH A FISH! As you watch the fish swim by, try to reel in your lure so it moves right in front of the fish. But Watch Out! These waters are full of old boots, tin cans, and spare tires. Try to reel in your lure so it doesn’t snag on them. • Keep this game away from moisture or extreme temperature. • Do not disassemble this game. If a problem occurs, press the RESET button remove and replace the batteries to reset the game or try new batteries. If problems persist, consult your warranty card for replacement instructions. • Use only the recommended battery type. But most importantly, be on the lookout for the notorious POLE-EATING BAD FISH! This nasty guy would like nothing better than to eat your fishing pole for breakfast—hook, line and sinker! (Level Two only) So try to keep your lure away from his big mouth or else he will steal your whole fishing pole! • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable (nickelcadmium) batteries. • Do not use rechargeable batteries. • Do not attempt to recharge nonrechargeable batteries. • Remove any exhausted batteries from the game. • Do not short-circuit the supply terminals. • Insert batteries with the correct polarity. REEL THEM IN! When a fish bites your lure, the game will shake. To make sure you got ‘em, jerk the game backwards to “set the hook.” Once the hook is set, turn the HANDLE to reel in your fish! The game will tell you how much your fish weights, and then it’s time to cast your line and go after another one! NOTE: If there is no activity for about one minute, Junior Bass Fishin’ will automatically turn itself off to save power. Press the ON•CAST•ENTER button to turn it back on again and start a new game. BATTERY INSTALLATION This game is powered by two (2) AA batteries. • Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw until the battery compartment door in the handle can be removed. • Insert two (2) AA(LR6) batteries (we recommend alkaline) as indicated inside the battery compartment. • Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screw with a screwdriver.
